Whyte Planning Consultants was established in 2001. We have built a strong reputation on delivering quality architectural and engineering projects as well as a reliable and friendly service.
The primary work of the consultancy is the attainment of planning permission for all types of developments.
We have worked with many prestigious clients including; Ely Wine Bars, Age Friendly Ireland, Barretstown Gang Camp, The K Club, Conlans BMW and several national schools as well as SME's such as Johnstown Garden Centre and Conservatory Design, Kilcock Car Dismantlers, Noone Engineering and Weston Homes to name but a few.
Derek Whyte has a Primary Degree in Civil Engineering from D.I.T and he began his working career in the local authority environment. He progressed through self-learning to become Kildare's leading rural planning designer which led to the attainment of a Masters Degree in Spatial Planning in 2011.
Committed to continuous professional development, Derek attained a Diploma in Law from the Law Society of Ireland and is currently studying in the King's Inns for an Advanced Diploma in Planning and Environmental Law.
Derek has developed an interest in Age Friendly Planning which resulted in the development of numerous age friendly town plans in Ireland.
He is the author of the local authority supported publication
"Being Age Friendly in the Public Realm".
Derek influenced the national development of the innovative Age Friendly Parking Initiative.
